Biography black history month timeline printable

Black History Timeline Card Printables

I have learned that I forget historical facts easily. I love history but my memory isn’t great with dates and timelines. I created these Black History timeline cards for me, for my children, and for anyone who would like to use them! I am open to adding more people and events to the set if you leave a comment with your request!

I use a small pocket chart to display our cards, I put them all up for the photo, but we are more interactive with them – adding people and events as we learn about them. I purposely don’t say what the person is known for to encourage research! If you don’t recognize someone, look them up and do some reading! I have spent hours doing this and have barely scratched the surface learning.

You can use these in so many ways, here are a few ideas:

  • Have your child write what the person is known for on the back of the card.
  • Print 2 sets and play memory.
  • Hang them on the wall in timeline format.
  • Put all of the cards in a bag, choose a person out of the bag each day and learn about him/her using the internet or books if you have some!
  • Check out a stack of Black History Books from the library and match the cards to the books as you read about people and events.
