Patricia Neal, born on January 20, 1926, in Knoxville, Tennessee, was an American film actress. She attended Northwestern University after high school, where she studied theater arts. After graduating, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. Her real name was Patsy Louise Neal.

Breakthrough in Hollywood

Neal's first acting job was in the Broadway production of "The Voice of the Turtle." She later appeared in musicals such as "Another Part of the Forest" and "The Miracle Worker." In 1949, she played one of her early film roles in the movie "The Fountainhead." It was during the filming of this movie that she met the already famous Hollywood actor, Gary Cooper. Despite being more than 20 years older than her, Neal fell in love with the charming and handsome Cooper. Initially, they kept their relationship a secret, but it eventually became public, causing quite a stir in the entertainment industry. Cooper's wife and daughter were hostile towards the aspiring actress, especially since she was expecting a child with Cooper.
